The Philippine Eagle Foundation (PEF) on Friday announced the passing of Philippine Eagle Pag-asa, the icon of conservation efforts in the country.

Pag-asa succumbed to infections associated with trichomoniasis and aspergillosis. Both diseases are fatal for raptors, according to the PEF.

Although treatment was done over a week ago, he continued to deteriorate and died at 8:03 PM on January 6, 2021.
